Ms. Stephanie E. Spencer, Director of The Printmaking Council of New Jersey
Ever wonder how a print is made? Unlike paintings which clearly display
the hand of the artist with each brush stroke, prints don't reveal the
materials used to create the image. Ms. Stephanie E. Spencer, Director
of The Printmaking Council of New Jersey, will speak about printmaking
techniques and the formation of the Council. Learn about this creative
center that promotes interaction among artists through exhibitions and
education, especially through the Roving Press education program that
provides on-site arts education to schools and organizations throughout

Elsie and Amy, the mother-daughter-dynamic-duo who operate the store will
be discussing how and why they opened their store, Sojourner, almost 20
years ago; how the business has grown; what itís like to be women in charge
of their own business. And how, as Mother and Daughter, they work together

Help us celebrate this joyous time of year with good food, good drink,
and, of course, good Friends. On hand to add to the festivities is singer/songwriter
Ms. Cathy Harrington along with local chanteuse, Robin Opel. Cathy and
Robin will bring their own brand of cheer to aid us in our merrymaking.

The Annual Juried Art Show at the Coryell Gallery
**Please note: This meeting will be held at the Coryell Gallery**
It is a real treat to view this exhibition without the crowd. Some of
Pennsylvania and New Jersey's best art is shown at Janet Hunts gallery.

Judge Ann Reynolds Bartlett

After seeing and hearing Judge Ann R. Bartlett in Small Claims Court at
the Flemington County Courthouse, our President, Sue Cleary, thought that
she would be a very interesting woman to have speak at the Kalmia Club.
The Honorable Ann R. Bartlett was sworn in as a Superior Court Judge on
July 27, 2001. She sits in Hunterdon County and is currently assigned
to the Criminal Division as well as Special Civil Part. She also handles
the Domestic Violence Contempt and Children-In-Court calendars.

Stars and the Party Girl with Shannon Burd
This program is not what you might think. Shannon Burd, apart from being
a doula, ballerina, wife and mother of 2 girls whom she homeschools, is
an (amateur) astronomer. She will be sharing some of the basics of astronomy
plus current goings-on in the heavens. Additionally, Shannon will discuss
an extraordinary female astronomer, Caroline Herschel ó sister to famed
astronomer, William Herschel. Important in her own right, Caroline (b.
1748 ≠ d. 1848) was a fun-loving woman who also contributed greatly to
the science of astronomy. In fact, she was the first woman to discover

Dr. Mamie Bowers of the Women's Health Center of Hunterdon County ≠ Affiliates
Dr. Bowers is one of the most respected gynecologists in Hunterdon County.
She is a graduate of North Hunterdon High School and Wellesley College
with a B.A. degree in chemistry and classics. She obtained her medical
degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, (University of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey) and completed her residency program in obstetrics
and gynecology at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut. Dr. Bowers
is currently a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,
a former board member of the Central New Jersey Maternal and Child Health
Consortium and on the Honorary Board of the Women's Crisis Services of
Flemington. Her special interests include urogynecology, the evaluation
