Scott Randolph, ghost tour guide, will speak about the founder of Ghost Tours New Hope and the history of 40 years of happy hauntings, perfect for October!

Bringing Back Lambertville’s Stand Theater

Over 100 years ago, Lambertville’s Strand Theatre on Coryell Street was a notable entertainment hub where residents flocked to see Vaudeville shows and early silent movies until it was destroyed by fire. Local professional artist Kelly Sullivan is revamping the historic theatre into a performance and arts space set to open in 2023 and will share the progress through photos, and also some great little found treasures. It will be exciting to hear all about her adventures, and future plans for the Strand.

The history of the former Quaker school that became the Kalmia Club is well known, and tonight our historian Barb Hencheck is going to share about some of the founding forewomen who created this lasting institution. Tidbits: a woman who was a leading figure in the national child psychology movement; a woman who donated her family treasures to Mount Vernon; and others who led our local Suffragette movement right here in Lambertville...and many more!

Barbara Fox, President of the NJ State Button Society, says buttons are magnificent miniature works of art, and every button has a story. She will share her knowledge of button history, materials that make them collectible, and also some of her personal collection. You are welcome to bring your grandmother’s button box for discussion!

Babe Didrikson Visits Kalmia

Voice actress Linda Kenyan will once again share a woman in history, showing up as Babe Didrikson, an American athlete who excelled in golf, basketball, baseball and track and field. She won two gold medals in track and field at the 1932 Summer Olympics, before turning to professional golf and winning 10 LPGA major championships.
