Committees

The Kalmia Club is an all-volunteer organization. Committees are our backbone. All members are encouraged to join one or more committee. It’s a great way to make friends while contributing to the club. To learn more, please contact us at kalmiaclub@gmail.com.

  • The Archives Committee sorts and preserves the historical records of the club.

    Archivist / Chair: Kathleen Jones Harris

  • Maintains and cares for the upkeep and organization of the clubhouse and the grounds. Recommends repairs to the Executive Committee and obtains estimates, as needed. Maintaining the historical integrity of the clubhouse is part of Kalmia’s mission.

  • Organizes annual blood drives in conjunction with the Red Cross. Collects donations and leads efforts for local outreach. More info.

  • Prepares the annual budget and monthly finance reports.

  • Plans the annual Hidden Gardens of Lambertville Tour, which takes place on the 2nd Saturday in June.

  • This committee works to secure delegates for the Girls Career Institute (GCI), which offers a “mini college experience” at Douglass Residential College on the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick. More info.

  • Researches and pursues funding opportunities to support the club’s mission.

    • New Jersey Historic Trust (NJHT) and the Preserve New Jersey Historic Preservation Fund for the sponsorship and funding of our Preservation Plan.

    • General Mercer Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for the sponsorship and funding of our Archival Preservation projects.

  • Ensures all members and visitors feel welcome. The Chair manages the member database.

  • The Scholarship Committee develops guidelines for the Kalmia scholarship program and reviews the applicants. Awards are presented to the recipients in June. More info.
