Supporting Women's Education

The Kalmia Club offers two opportunities for senior and junior women attending South Hunterdon Regional High School. Applicants apply for both opportunities through the SHRHS Guidance Office. Information is provided through the Guidance Office, early, after the New Year. Please be on the lookout for announcements at the school. All recipients, along with their families, are invited to attend an awards ceremony at the Kalmia Clubhouse in June.
The Kalmia Club Scholarship Program
The annual Kalmia Club Scholarship Program is open to the current year graduating senior women of SHRHS. Once the scholarship opportunity is announced by the school, the Kalmia Club and the SHRHS Guidance Office start soliciting and accepting applications and essays for the scholarship(s).
Girls Career Institute at Rutgers' Douglass College
The Girls Career Institute (GCI) offers a “mini college experience” at Douglass Residential College on the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick, NJ. It is open to current year junior girls. They will experience a snapshot of college life by living in a dorm, attending lectures, and meeting other girls from all over NJ. Girls are sponsored and the experience is paid for by the NJ State Federation of Women’s Clubs, of which the Kalmia Club is a member.

Preserving Our Historic Clubhouse

Preserving the structural and aesthetic integrity of our clubhouse, a historical landmark, is part of Kalmia’s mission.
Few clubs have the good fortune of having their own clubhouse. Many meet in public spaces, which they must rent or reserve. We are so grateful to have a place we can call home and honored to be her guardians since 1910.
As every homeowner knows, it takes ongoing resources to maintain a building. Support towards this effort is greatly appreciated

Supporting our Community

Organizing annual blood drives with the American Red Cross.
Providing food, personal care items, household supplies, and monetary donations to local organizations, including the Delaware Valley Food Pantry, Fisherman’s Mark, Anderson House, Arm in Arm, and the Lambertville Free Public Library.
Contributing to the Community Lunch program.
Contributing to the annual Wrapping Presence® program, which provides seniors in elder living with gifts to share with their families at the holidays.
Participating in the NJSFWC Special State Project and the GFWC National Day of Service to address current social challenges.
