Program Chair: Kate Breuning

An introduction to the celebrated artists who began the revered regional art movement in the late 1880’s by a museum docent, including our own Kalmia member Fern Coppedge (1883-1951). Ms. Coppedge was known for her painted scenes blanketed with snow, such as the villages and farms of Bucks County. The painting she graciously gifted to the Club will on display.

Program Chair: Ute Arnold

Bronwyn Bird is a music therapist who currently runs The Birdhouse Center for the Arts in Lambertville. Bronwyn specializes in playing a rare Scandinavian instrument called the Nyckelharpa. Come experience the tone of the 16-string bowed instrument, and learn how she adapts her playing to reflect both historical and contemporary folk genres and how she integrates it into her music therapy work.

The Sourland Conservancy is a non-profit organization that works to protect, promote and preserve the unique character of the Sourland Mountain region. It is the only organization dedicated solely to the protection of critical forest, wetland and grassland habitat in the Sourland region that spans three counties: Somerset, Hunterdon and Mercer.
